Plastic Pipe Work

Plastic Pipe Work

Plastic pipe fittings have become very popular these days for water supply and drain lines. The low cost, good durability and easy installation has made plastic pipes most popular.

Variety:
Fittings meant for plastic pipes and for connecting plastic to metal pipes are available in various options like threaded, compression and solvent weldable types. The diameter and specification of plastic pipe fittings also vary depending on their application. For example, fittings with smaller diameters are used for pressure connections and they are slightly heavier and have deeper throats.

Threaded plastic fittings thread almost like metal fittings. When both hot and cold water are to be carried, it is advised to install special transition fittings in order to prevent leaks caused by the different expansion rates of plastic and metals. In fact, plastic pipe fittings are available for almost every kind of application.

ABS System:

(Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is another variety of plastic widely used for making plastic pipe fittings. ABS can be easily recognized by its blue color and rigidity. ABS fittings are usually used for drainage lines and are more economical than PVC pipe fittings. The sections are joined together using solvent cement.

PVC System:

(Polyvinyl Chloride) is one of the most broadly used thermoplastic materials common to many industries. PVC is highly resistant to acids, alkalis, alcohols, and many other corrosive materials. INDUSTRIAL/ BT

uPVC System (Polyvinyl chloride  unplastizised) offers the best value for money for many applications. PVC-U is also a universal material.
 Prevalent Use: SWV/ INDUSTRIAL
Cutting and Fitting: PVC pipe is easily cut with a hacksaw or tubing cutter. The sections are joined together mechanically using plastic pressure fittings for later removal or permanently joined using special chemical solvent.

PVC Sch 80

pvc-sch-80-01pvc-sch-80-02

PVC Schedule 80 applications are frequently used for chilled water systems, chemical processing, industrial plating, and chemical drainage systems.
Thermoplastic PVC (polyvinyl chloride) systems are light, flexible, tough and provide exceptional corrosion resistance. Because of these and other properties of a high quality engineered thermoplastic, the savings that can be realized in initial installation and continuing maintenance costs are substantial. INDUSTRIAL

PVC Sch 40

Compared with Schedule 80 systems, Schedule 40 PVC pipe and fittings are a lower-cost alternative for applications with lower pressures but requiring the same thermal and chemical resistance. INDUSTRIAL

Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride

Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) is simultaneously light, flexible, tough, and exceptionally corrosion-resistant. CPVC is highly resistant to acids, alkalis, alcohols, and many other corrosive materials. With its ability to withstand higher temperatures than PVC applications, CPVC is used in media temperatures up to 210°F (intermittently) and can typically be found in hot water systems, hot acid distribution, and waste systems.
Thermoplastic CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) systems are light, flexible, tough and provide exceptional corrosion resistance. Because of these and other properties of a high quality engineered thermoplastic, the savings that can be realized in initial installation and continuing maintenance costs are substantial. HDPE and PE

Piping made from Polyethylene is a cost effective solution for a broad range of piping problems in municipal, industrial, marine, mining, landfill, duct and agricultural applications. It has been tested and prove effective for above ground, surface, buried, sliplined, floating, and sub-surface marine application.

High-Density Polyethylene Pipe (HDPE) can carry potable water, wastewater, slurries, chemicals, hazardeous wastes and compressed gases. In fact, polyethylene pipe has a long and distinguished history of service to the gas, oil, mining and other industries. It has the lowest repair frequency per mile of pipe per year compared with all other pressure pipe material used for urban gas distribution. Polyethylene is strong, extremely tough and very durable. Whether you’ re looking for service, trouble-free installation, flexibility, resistance to chemicals or a myriad of other features, HDPE will meet all your requirement.   UT/ BT

PE Polyethylene has been the accepted material for the production of fittings and pressure pipes used in the distribution of drinking water for more than 50 years. Polyethylene is characterized by toughness, near-zero moisture absorption, excellent chemical resistance, excellent electrical insulating properties, low coefficient of friction and ease of processing.

However, due to its molecular structure, Polyethylene is suitable for cold water plumbing only -- exhibiting extremely good strength at room temperatures whilst retaining its flexibility and has longevity of life when used for cold water plumbing applications.PB Polybutene-1 was developed over 30 years ago specifically for use as a hot and cold water plumbing pipe material. PB-1 resins are flexible, linear polyolefins produced from 1-butene as homopolymers and as copolymers with ethylene. Polybutene-1 is a proven solution for the conveyance of clean healthy drinking water.
The most important commercial application for Polybutene-1 (PB-1) is therefore in plumbing pipe for residential and commercial use. With superior temperature and thermal capabilities compared to other materials, there is no need for lagging – it endures and continues to perform both in low and high temperature applications. The flexibility of Polybutene-1 pipe assists installers and eliminates water hammer noise. Polybutene-1 is also environmentally friendly as it is 100% recyclable.

c.    HANSEN Pipe Fittings

hdpe-pe-06

HANSEN Pipe Fittings are suitable for use above or below ground, in varying operating pressures and temperatures.  They are Strong, Lightweight and Compact and are available in a variety of thread  combinations and connections. The main feature of this fitting is its ability to be joint easily by pushing the pipe onto the fitting and wind on the nut. No O-Ring, No Crimping, No Solvent Cement.

The PPR Pipe is one of the latest pipes resulting from European advanced technology of gos. Featured by excellent cleanness, cost effectiveness, applicability and advantage in safety, it is considered as the optimal pipe material for hot and cold water system, water purifying engineering, underground heating system for wooden floor, chemical pipe work and so on.

PPH

pph-01

Polypropylene Homopolymer shows a high mechanical strength, tensile strength, but a low notched impact strength. PP resists stress cracking and it is easy to weld. Though at times PP can get brittle at minus temperature, generally it resists stress / cracking and is easy to weld. The working temperature ranges between +5 °C and 100 °C. Due to unique Grade of PP & PPH thermal expansion is very low, leading to lesser sagging compared to HDPE. Non-Corrosive raw material & smoother inner surface prevents any kind of corrosion & erosion.
